A Home Renovation
To some, the Stafford Street house looked like 1200 square feet of problems – mold, leaks, drafts – a flat-roofed demolition in the waiting. We saw a beautiful small home, nestled into and interacting with a mature landscape.
Six months later when the homeowners moved in, they found a light, airy, energy-efficient space. What had been a 2-bedroom, 1-bath was now a 3-bedroom, 2-bath. But since the flow of the house was completely restructured, and with the addition of window walls and an outside room, the home actually felt bigger.
Equally significant was the renovation pricetag – roughly half the going rate of a new house.
